The first structure built where the famous Corvin Castle is located today dates from the 14th Century. Only after 1440, ruler Iancu de Hunedoara began major works which transformed the old fortress into a true castle. There are several legends surrounding the construction of the castle, the most famous one being connected to the well in the courtyard. Go on a guided tour of the castle in order to discover this amazing story.

The castle includes 7 defense towers (round and rectangular) – the best kept ones are the Tower of the Mace or Capistrano Tower. There are three large areas you can visit: the Knights’ Hall, the Diet Hall (contrary to the name, this hall doesn’t have anything to do with food; it used to be where the nobility of the time met in order to decide on important matters) and the Circular Stairway.

You can find out more information on the official website of Corvin Castle.
